The Sports Industry Academy Summer Program at UC Santa Barbara provides an introduction to the $400 + Billion Sports Industry to mature and highly talented high school and college students from across the country. Prominent sports executives will guide Scholars on the inner-workings of the sports industry.
In addition to learning about the business of sports, the high school/C.C. scholars cohort will be provided with an introduction to the academic environment of our host, U.C. Santa Barbara.
High school scholars will receive an exclusive and comprehensive daylong workshop by a Senior Admissions Counselor on how to navigate the university admissions process, including keys on writing a “winning” personal statement.
The program runs from July 16 – 21, 2017 and offers a housing option as well commuting. Workshops include sports marketing and entrepreneurism, providing public relations for a professional athlete, a behind the scenes look at sports television among others.
To be eligible, students should be rising freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school (Fall, 2017) who are mature and in good academic standing with a 2.75 and above grade point average (GPA). They are also accepting applications from current college/university students.
