costa ricaIf you have a student, 18 and over, who is looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity with travel involved, you’ll want them to check out HBCUTravelers.com & uVolunteer scholarship. There are a lot of amazing volunteer packages out there that will take students to far-flung places but they come with a pretty nice price tag.

The selected student will choose between a 2 or 3 week end-of-summer project based on his or her university’s start date for the upcoming Fall semester. They will also receive an airfare voucher to help them get there.

The scholarship is open to African American students ages 18+. Winners will get to record a video and blog about their experiences while in Costa Rica. Click here to read blogs from previous volunteers.

  • Submissions will be accepted from April 1, 2016 until June 1, 2016
  • Finalist will be announced on June 3, 2016
  • Shortlisted Finalist must then write a short essay answering one question (to be announced).
  • Winner will be revealed by June 9, 2016

Travel will start on July 29, 2016.
