Student Artists Get Ready for National Portfolio Day

calartsHigh school students planning to apply to art colleges/programs that require a portfolio are encouraged to take part in National Portfolio Day, an opportunity to have your portfolio evaluated by representatives from colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (see list of colleges below).

Your portfolio can include finished pieces, work in progress, and sketchbooks. They ask you to bring your original artwork whenever possible.  You do not need to spend time and money matting or framing your work. Keep your presentation simple; the work itself is what is of interest.

Representatives will also be available to discuss their programs and answer questions about professional careers in art.

The Los Angeles event will be held at CalArts on Saturday, October 11th, from 12:00-4:00pm. Click here for the 2014-15 schedule of events across the country.
