The hustle for scholarship money doesn’t end with an acceptance letter. Scholarships are available throughout a student’s college career.
The Lagrant Foundation Scholarship awards (20) $5,000 scholarships to full-time minority graduate students and (20) $2500 scholarships to undergraduate students who are majoring in public relations, marketing, or advertising. The deadline to apply is 2/27/15.
Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA to be considered for this award while graduate students are expected to maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA and must have a minimum of two semesters left to complete their master’s degree.
The scholarship also includes a trip to Chicago where recipients will participate in career building activities from June 7 – 9, 2015. This includes a welcome dinner with a keynote speaker, two day-long career development workshops and a scholarship & donor recognition reception. During these activities, students will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, network and gain exposure to the advertising, marketing and public relations world. It sounds like a great opportunity to network themselves into a job or internship.
In addition to the application, students must write an essay detailing their career goals, accomplishments and the reasons why they should be selected for the award.
