grand artsFor the student who lives to perform, check out Grand Arts High School (formerly known as Ramon C. Cortinez School of Visual and Performing Arts). They have academies in dance, music, theater and visual arts. There will be an open house on January 17, 2014 from 9 am – 12 pm.

Interested students should attend arts workshops offered on Jan. 24, and 31, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. These workshops, sponsored by our partners Cal Arts and the Colburn School of Music, are jointly taught by Grand Arts, Cal Arts and Colburn faculty in state-of-the-art classrooms and performance spaces. It should be noted that we require no prior training and no audition. There are no fees. They ask only that students bring their passion, dedication, and willingness to work hard.

The Saturday Workshop series provides fundamental skills in each art form and gives prospective students the opportunity to meet and work with faculty and partners. Prospective students will also have the opportunity to hear first-hand from Student Ambassadors about what it means to be a Grand Arts student and to understand the level of commitment that dual-mission studies require.

Prospective students are strongly encouraged to attend all three dates.

Grand Arts accepts approximately 400 ninth grade students per year from all over Los Angeles County
