explore bowdoinHigh-achieving high school seniors from diverse backgrounds, who might otherwise be unable to visit, have the opportunity to spend three days on Bowdoin’s campus for The Explore Bowdoin program.

Located in Maine, Bowdoin understands that traveling may pose a significant financial burden for many families, the College covers the entire cost of the trip, including all transportation (by plane, Amtrak, or bus) and meals. Please note that preference is given to applicants who demonstrate financial need.

Students spend Thursday to Sunday on the Bowdoin College campus. Students will arrive on Bowdoin’s campus throughout the day on Thursday (travel day) and depart very early on Sunday. The program provides an excellent opportunity to visit the College, meet current students and faculty, sample their wonderful food, and learn more about life at Bowdoin.

While on campus, students will experience many of the academic opportunities and social activities that Bowdoin students enjoy. Participants stay with current students in campus housing, attend classes, receive personal admissions interviews, and attend information sessions on admissions and financial aid.

Students may choose from one of two program dates. The program dates for 2015 are: September 17-20, 2015 and October 22-25, 2015.  Be advised that October 24th is an ACT test date; please plan accordingly as students will not be able to take the ACT in Maine if they are participating in the October program.
